David would ask God if he should go into battle with this or that nation. David was far from perfect, but he consulted God on many things during the course of his life. He did not need to be home in Israel in order to serve his God.ĭavid, called by God, “A man after my own heart”, was anointed by God as the king of Israel, and he followed God with passion all of his life. But more importantly, he succeeded in his work because he never stopped serving his God with his whole heart, openly, completely, and unwaveringly. He brought the king’s words from God and lived his entire life in their courts. Daniel ended up an honored man in the courts of multiple Babylonian kings, and he did not keep his devotion to God any secret. God had plans for him, but not what he thought. His perfect timing brought many of them back to their land after the prophesied seventy years.ĭaniel, a privileged young Hebrew boy with a bright life ahead of him, was one of the many who were taken captive in those days. Later, his people lived for themselves instead of for Him, and he allowed many of them to be carried away as captives to Babylon and other countries. God’s chosen people, the Israelites, were held in slavery to Egypt for 400 years before God led them out to freedom Then He led them round and round in the wilderness for many years, until he had worked in their hearts to give them freedom. Sarah was close to 100 years old when she gave birth for the first time – and their baby would father all twelve of the Israelite tribes. But the problem was, Abraham and Sarah, his wife were elderly and had no children. God told Abraham that he would be the father of a great nation. We can learn so much from the Bible as we learn about how to trust God’s timing. Nothing happened by coincidence or happenstance but by the hand of the mighty, powerful, and only God. But these stories took place in real lives and in real-time. When we read stories in the Bible, we are reading them in the past tense. And He can orchestrate a multi-faceted situation in perfect harmony to bring everything and everyone around at just the right time and under the right conditions. ![]() He knows every person who is involved in a situation (that we may think is centered around only ourselves). He knows the timeline that is moving every one of us through our days and years, and He knows the very best route for us to reach our calling. It may not be the shortest, but it will be the best. He sees what is behind the scenes, hidden beneath the obvious, He knows what is contained inside of hearts, and what the intentions of others are. And when it seems that something is taking far too long, we can know that God has it all in hand. He knows the right time for everything. We have only human knowledge, but God is all-knowing and perfect in all His ways. The Bible tells us over and over that we must trust in God’s ways and not in our own.
